Dear Family!
Well you all know pretty well how I am doing because of fact that Mother's Day was Yesterday. But I'll still give a recap of the week for those who weren't present. I'll just cover a couple of the lessons that we were able to have through out the week.
While we were tracting on Wednesday we went to get some contacts in for the day. It seems like we have a lot of first door conversations which are great. The first door we knocked on was this guy named Keith. We visited with him for a while talking about the restoration. He seemed to accept the message pretty well and the spirit was definitely there. He was talking about he has a rough life, we could tell by his knuckles, and that the gospel truly could bless him. He always would say, "My Pastor said this, or that." Come to think about it he didn't have too much knowledge from his own studies, just what others had told him. We invited him to start reading the scriptures and to pray about them.
Thursday after our weekly planning we were able to visit with Bertie. She told us that she would be able and willing to come to church again. We saw her there in church last week so we know that she is more than capable to come to church. She had read everything we asked her to read so she was ready for our discussion. We invited her to be baptized and she said yes, but we are not quite sure what to do for her situation. We didn't see her at church yesterday so we hope that she truly has a sincere heart towards this.
Saturday we had the great chance to help with a Stake Missionary Prep day. We all met at the church at noon for lunch. After that we each took out a kid and went to work. There was a total of about 19 people so we had a total of 16 companionships. The even greater thing was most of the work that was done was in our area. Afterwards President Sakai was very grateful for the help we all gave. I really do love this area and don't really want to leave so prayers are towards not leaving.
Saturday after the Missionary Prep we got to go visit with Fortunat. I love being able to teach him. When we gave him a Book of Mormon in his language the joy and happiness on his face was priceless. We brother Patenuade there so he could help with the understanding. Afterwards we took pictures so attached will be a photo of us! He is so excited for his baptism. He reminds us of it every time we see him.
(Plus it was Elder Chamberlain's birthday!)
And of course Sunday was a great day!! Skyping was such a blessing.
Love you all!
Elder Bentley
